To support the productivity of UGM academics in the field of publications, the UGM Publishers and Publications Agency (BPP) held a Workshop on the Implementation of International Seminars with Outputs of Indexed Proceedings in Reputable Databases. This activity was held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, in Multimedia Room II, UGM Central Building. The purpose of the activity is to provide input and direction on the plan to hold an international seminar at UGM in order to produce indexed proceedings in internationally reputed databases. Workshop participants were given proceedings to establish cooperation with international publishers as well as ways to submit indexation to reputable databases at the international level. The event was attended by the organizing committee of international seminars from faculties in the UGM environment and it was hoped that the international seminar organizing committee would get insights and views related to preparation before and after implementation, one of which was a way to produce quality proceedings so that they could be indexed.
Widodo, M.Sc., Ph.D. as the Head of BPP UGM said that UGM publications in the form of proceedings were still 31% so that international seminars that could produce output in the form of indexed proceedings would greatly help improve UGM publications. Several speakers who have been very qualified in the selection of indexed proceedings in reputable databases were presented at this workshop. This workshop presented Dr. Ir. Alim Isnansetyo, M.Sc. which gave a presentation related to IOP, Dr. Tri Rini Nuringtyas, M.Sc. who presented material related to AIP, EDP, TransTech, and KnE, and Dr. I Wayan Mustika, S.T., M.Eng. which provides IEEE related material. Each speaker explained that the process of being able to work with publishers was not much different. Some important things that need to be observed are that the scope of the seminar is sought according to the publisher to be selected and the availability of informative websites to convince publishers. The resource person advised the seminar organizing committee to elect publishers at least 6 months before the seminar was held.
