Badan Penerbit dan Publikasi UGM (BPP) held a “Workshop on the Role of Enumerators in Data Collection and Validation of Scientific Paper Publications in 2021” on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021. To be more precise, the database for publication of research results and community service for the UGM academic community has been centered on Simaster. On the Publication menu. The role of enumerators in data collection and validation of scientific publications in the Publication Simaster is particularly important. The publication enumerator is the spearhead of data input resulting from publication research activities and community service for the UGM academic community in all units. It is necessary to monitor and increase competence in inputting and searching for publication data. In his speech, the head of BPP UGM, Prof. Widodo, Ph.D., said that the role of published data enumerators greatly influences university achievement reports because the data is one of the indicators presented in the university performance index. Don’t let the data not being input make it seem as if no achievements can be claimed so that it is detrimental to the university.
Enumerators are limited to entering data into the system and need to know and understand the data indicators to be input. In the data entry process, various obstacles often occur so that inter-enumerator integration is required, especially together with the Simaster system developer, namely DSSDI. Present as a resource person, Djoni Purwanto, S. Kom. from DSSDI UGM, and Dr. Purwani Istiana, S.IP., M.A. from the UGM journal acceleration team. The two resource persons were present to provide participants with a deeper understanding to identify and look for primary data on each publication indicator such as journal data, published scientific article data, chapter data, books, and publications in the mass media. In more depth, participants were also allowed to share experiences and convey obstacles during the data entry process so that they were evaluated together,
The event, attended by more than 50 participants from all units at UGM, went smoothly. In his closing remarks, Head of Publication and Journal of BPP UGM, Ratih Fitria Putri, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., encouraged the enumerators to play an active role in entering data that supports the UGM ranking. Through the particular Whatsapp group for publication enumerators, it is hoped that communication between the enumerators, DDSDI and UGM BPP will be more well-established so that it impacts the maximum publication data entry process.
