One of BPP UGM’s efforts to improve the quality of management of scientific journals in UGM is to oversee the management of old journals that are inactive and the publication of new journals through workshops entitled “Workshop on New Journal Publishing and Management”. The workshop held for two days, January 28-29, 2020, located at the Grand Inna Hotel in Yogyakarta and opened by the Secretary of the UGM BPP, Dr. Mutiah Amini, M. Hum. Present at the workshop as a guest speaker Prof. Dr. Istadi from Diponegoro University on the first day and Dr. Siti Nurleyli Marliana, M.Sc. on the second day.
Prof. Dr. Istadi explained about how important to publish journals as requirements for accreditation in the last two years. As the member of assessor team at Ministry of Research and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency, he conveyed the assessment of journal accreditation. The participants were given intensive assistance about journal management especially in layout and design by Dr. Siti Nurleyli Marliana, M.Sc. from Faculty of Biology UGM. After reviewing the layout, participants were also correcting the website design that they managed.
This workshop focused in solving technical problems due to the technical matters that were often faced by the administrators. [Rozy&Adinda]
