BPP Oversees UGM Journal Readiness for Indexation Process

Reputable international journals are journals that meet the criteria of international journals with additional criteria indexed by international databases. Indexation is the process of registering journals with reputable indexing institutions. Journal indexation on DOAJ and Scopus is one of the targets in efforts to improve UGM’s reputation at the international level.

On September 16 and 17, 2019 at Multimedia 1 Room, BPP held an indexation workshop and preparation for UGM journal accreditation. Present as a guest speaker on the first day, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Nuryono as Editor in Chief of the Indonesian Journal of Chemistry (IJC) and Dr.rer.nat. Siti Nurleily Marliana, M.Sc., from the Faculty of Biology. Prof. Nuryono discussed the minimum evaluation criteria by Scopus covering journal policies, content, editorial board performance reputation, and online availability. Meanwhile, Dr.rer.nat. Marliana identified and evaluated the readiness of the journal Power, Conflict, and Democracy (PCD) Journal, Agricultural Science, and the Indonesian Journal of Computing and Cybernetics Systems (IJCCS) to head for indexation to Scopus.

Andri Putra Kesmawan, MIP as the workshop speaker on the second day did a journal management screening in the Review of Primary Care Practice and Education (RPCPE) journal, Journal of Community Empowerment for Health (JCOEMPH), Jurnal Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (JSP), Jurnal Sains Veteriner (JSV), and Jurnal Pendidikan Kedokteran Indonesia (JPKI). The screening was conducted to determine the readiness of the journal before accreditation or re-accreditation was submitted. At the end of the workshop, Dr. Purwani Istiana, M.A. assisted four journals to be submitted to DOAJ, namely IKAT, Journal of Leadership in Organizations, Gadjah Mada Journal of Psychology, and Gadjah Mada Journal of Professional Psychology.
