BPP Holds a Workshop “Nature Research Academies”

On October 9-10, 2019 BPP collaborated with Nature Research to organize “The 2nd Nature Research Academies Workshop 2019”, it was located at the Auditorium of the 5th floor at UGM Postgraduate Building. The workshop was attended by more than 200 participants of UGM’s academics from various faculties.

Head of BPP UGM, Widodo, M.Sc., Ph.D., delivered an opening speech about how important the research academies workshop that was being held annually. The next workshop was opened officially by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Community Service, drg. Ika Dewi Ana, M. Kes., Ph.D., who notably encouraged in academic support towards “The 2nd Nature Research Academies Workshop 2019”.

Dr. Jeffrey Robens, the Editorial Development Manager of Nature Research also attended the workshop as the speaker. During the workshop, he conveyed interactively in two days meeting. The first day was about the discussion of best strategy to be a good author of international scholarly journal, such as an effective writing technique, understandable article writing technique, how to present the introduction/method/result article chapter, and how to make an effective title/abstract/discussion. On the second day, the discussion was more to strategy about how to get indexed on international journal. It began with the explanation about ethics in scholarly publications, how to choose the journal, the way to communicate with journal editor, and strategy after the article was sent to the publishers.

At the end of the day, Dr. Jeffrey Robens as the speaker gave a chance for participants to consult their article draft through e-mail as the follow-up of “The 2nd Nature Research Academies Workshop 2019”. It was aimed to bring about the published scholarly articles as the result of the workshop that was being held. [Adinda]
