Book Review: “Pancasila Dasar Negara: Kursus Pancasila oleh Presiden Soekarno Tentang Pancasila”

Regional Library and Archives Service (DPAD) Special Region of Yogyakarta held a book review “Pancasila Dasar Negara: Kursus Pancasila oleh Presiden Soekarno Tentang Pancasila” on Monday (24/02). The event took place at Joglo Tegalan, Sidomoyo, Godean, Sleman and reap a lot of sympathy from participants and position holder. This event began with opening speech by H. Koeswanto, S.IP. as the member of DPRD Special Region of Yogyakarta.

Diasma Sandi Swandaru, S. Sos., M.H. as the main speaker and author team from Center of Pancasila Studies (PSP) UGM explained in detail per chapter, such as about the birth of Five Principles (Pancasila), Speech on June 1st, 1945, as the key of Five Principles and National Principle of RI. The next chapter was about translation and meaning of Five Principles as nation principle, Ketuhanan Yang Maha Esa, Kebangsaan, Perikemanusiaan, Kedaulatan Rakyat, dan Keadilan Sosial. “Here we know how we think properly. This book is very important to be basic material and handbook for state administration. The best way to learn Five Principles is not from interpreter, but from the initiator, he is Ir. Soekarno”, said Diasma.

“Five Principles as one only nation principle which is able to unite Indonesian nation. It can be seen from any perspectives that the explanation of Five Principles become the foundation of the resurrection of Asia Africa which began in Bandung to unite on one’s own feet, and President Soekarno push for Pancasila to be included in the UN charter in order to create world peace on September 30, 1960”, said Diasma.

Main focus of this event is to increase people’s understanding on each principle in Five Principles. This book is about nationalism insight in Five Principles initiated by Dr. (HC). Ir. Soekarno which was discussed in depth and prioritize real applications in the life of the nation and state.

Head of Regional Library and Archive Board, Sleman Regency, Sri Wantini as the second speaker also explained about the importance of unity and synergy between communities to form a strong and integrated Indonesian nation.

“I hope this book is available in all libraries. This is going to arouse the soul of patriotism inside to go back in the unity of Indonesia”, said her.
