UGM Publishers and Publications Board (BPP) held a basic OJS 3 workshop on Thursday, November 28, 2019, in Multimedia Room I, UGM Central Building, north side of the 3rd floor. The workshop was attended by journal managers and editors from several registered journals in OJS v.3 platform and was opened by Head of Journal Subdivision, Syahrul Fauzi, S. Pt., M. Pd. In his speech, he stated that the introduction of OJS v.3 to journal managers in UGM area was indispensable, especially for the recent published journal in 2018 and 2019. This event was the continuation of hosting migration trial process from OJS v.2 to OJS v.3.

Andrian Dion Priadi, S. Kom., a member of journal acceleration team (Tim Percepatan Jurnal) BPP, attended as the speaker. In his speech, Dion declared that OJS v.2 platform has reached the maximum limit. The development of OJS platform has only been applied on the recent version (v.3) so that the previous journal of v.2 had to consider using OJS v.3 platform.

Furthermore, in his statement, Dion clarified that OJS v.3 had another plus point, especially about the up-to-date display and various feature. He introduced each feature and OJS v.3 button, and the procedure of use to the participants. Dion compared between the OJS v.2 and v.3 feature, layout, and function from the recent feature on OJS v.3 which mostly remain the same, but are on the different menu and submenu. The workshop was ended with discussion session and consultation of obstacles and solution of DOI Journal’s indexation and activation process which will be processing the migration hosting. The decision about platform migration has entirely turned down to each journal manager. [Adinda]
