UGM Publishers and Publications Board (BPP) reorganized Author Workshop on Academic Writing and Publishing 2019 for UGM’s academics especially lecturers and educators with 280 participants on Monday, October 21, 2019 which took place in Auditorium of the 5th floor at UGM Postgraduate Building. Head of BPP, Widodo, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D. In his speech, he stated that it will be a regular event in the future for postgraduate students so that they would be more productive in publishing articles to be published on reputable journal through their final assignment.
The workshop was held annually to facilitate UGM’s academics in writing process until it is published. BPP UGM was not only improving the quality, but also enhancing the quantity of publications on international journal. One of the missions is by inviting Enago Academy as the speaker in this workshop.
Enago Academy is the service provider institution in scholarly writing, such as journal article. BPP has worked with Enago Academy in various events, like on Language Editing that helped author in UGM to improve the manuscript before published. Dr. Gretchen as the Head of Enago Academy attended as the speaker.
In her speech, she explained about the importance of writing quality, both in terms of language and its grammar, so as being the key of success of the accepted article on international journal. Moreover, in the next session, she helped the participants to know more about basic concept of citation, reference, and plagiarism so that it used properly. It is hoped that the workshop continues to enhance the quality and quantity of publication and improve UGM’s citation in general. [Adinda]
