Workshop on Organizing International Seminars with Outputs of Indexed Proceedings in a 2018 Reputable Database

Proceedings of the results of organizing international seminars are aimed at widely disseminating the results of research presented at international seminars. Proceedings are one form of scientific publications in addition to journals that can help increase the scientific publications of UGM academics. Therefore, proceedings resulting from international seminar activities taking place at UGM must be of high quality and are expected to be able to provide a scientific impact on their fields in the form of citation of the proceedings which ultimately can improve UGM's reputation. The indexation of proceedings in a reputable database is one way that can be taken to improve quality, especially in increasing the visibility of the proceedings globally. Given the large number of international seminars held by units within UGM, the Publishing and Publication Agency needs to conduct direct socialization to provide insight and tips for conducting reputable international seminars and producing proceedings indexed by international database.

In order to expand the publication of the results of the seminar held UGM, 2018 Publishers and Publications Board made the UGM Digital Press. The existence of UGM Digital Proceedings is not only a forum for the publication of seminar results, but also as a forum for the publication of books from UGM academic research published at UGM Press. The Workshop on Organizing International Seminars with Outputs of Indexed Proceedings on Reputation Databases also intends to introduce UGM Digital Press to be used by all units at UGM.

1. Provide input and guidance on the organization of an international seminar to produce proceedings indexed in the database of repute at the international level;
2. Providing tips on publishing proceedings in collaboration with international publishers and how to apply indexation to reputable databases at the international level; and
3. Introducing UGM Digital Proceedings as a container for the publication of proceedings resulting from international seminars and books published by UGM Press.

Participants in this workshop are representatives of all faculties / departments / study centers at Gadjah Mada University who will hold international seminars in 2019.
