Located in the BPP Meeting Room, on March 28, 2019, UGM Publishers and Publications Agency (BPP) held a meeting with representatives from Clarivate Analytics. The event was attended by the Head of BPP UGM, Widodo, Ph.D. and UGM Manager Press, Dr. I Wayan Mustika. In the ongoing discussion, Dr. See as an Account Manager from Clarivate Analytics explained that Web of Science (WoS) is an online subscription-based scientific publication indexing service currently managed by Clarivate Analytics. Thus, Clarivate Analytics’ main business is in data analysis and not as a publisher. This is done so that Clarivate Analytics produces transparent judgments and there is no conflict of interest.
Furthermore, Dr. See also explained that his ability to explore connections and documentation built by researchers became the power of Clarivate Analysis. Through the Clarivate Analytics matrix in relation to impact factors and normalized citation can be read well, so it is very useful for institutional management. Moreover, the scientific field handled by Web of Science is wider than other indexing systems.
